I've been invited to Merida's Royal Celebration

Oh what is a a girl to do?  Whatever will I wear?  Pink, no blue, no green...  I will be in the presence of the Royal Court with all 10 princesses watching Merida's special moment, her royal coronation!  I think my tiara is going to be a must!  All of the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration attendees will be at the event after a wonderful breakfast at the Contemporary.

I wonder where the ceremony will take place? Do you think they would do it anywhere other than in front of Cinderella's Castle?

Always on the lookout for running skirts

I am not talking about fitness clothing...I am talking about running skirts for runDisney costumes!  I found some yesterday that I fell in love with and they were on sale.  I was at the outlets at Wrentham, Massachusetts.  It was not at a running store.  I was not even at an adult clothing store.  I was at Hanna Andersson...the children's clothing store.  I am only 5' 4" so I can wear some of there 160 cm children's cloths and these skirts were too cute not to try on.

They came in Aurora pink, Belle yellow, and Cinderella blue!

In the end I passed on the skirts, even though they were on sale for less than $30!  It just was not in yesterdays budget.  I was shopping for my Disney Social Media Moms Celebration clothing and for items for the girls.  Maybe I should have gotten the skirt to wear to dinner right!?!  Anyway these skirts were totally runner friendly!  I thought maybe they would be on the website, but no such luck.  So I guess those of you close to an outlet are in luck.  For everyone else...think outside the box and check children's stores for runner friendly costume bits.

For the Runners of the World and the People of Boston

Yesterday the Boston Marathon, runners, spectators, first responders, hospital workers, and general folks were shocked and devastated by an act of terrorism.  Organizing, training, running, supporting, and yes even spectating a marathon are all huge endeavors that are emotionally and physically draining.  It was at that very moment when there was little left in the "reserve tank" for so many that this attack occurred.  Yet all of those present at the finish line, on the course and out in the neighborhoods of Boston came together to help out, care for and begin the healing.  Today runners around the country and undoubtedly around the world are showing there support by wearing race shirts and running.

I wore my Marine Corps Marathon
shirt to work today.
This afternoon I am wearing my
Goofy Challenge shirt on my run.

Post run update:

Tonight I went on a very special run.  I did a lot of thinking about runners and races. I thought about the people I know who ran the Boston Marathon and went on an emotional virtual run of the course.  I put myself in the place of all the runners who have so graciously posted about their experience.  How would I have responded? How would it have impacted me? It was a very emotional run.  I ran long for a week night.  After 10.25 miles I was hungry, thirsty and tired.  Marathons are mentally and physically grueling and to have the day turn out the way this one did was unimaginable and horrific.

WDWHalf Marathon Inspired Run a la Donald

Tonight I needed a little motivation to get out there and run.  So I grabbed a favorite runDisney shirt and thought that would be enough to motivate me.  Boy was it ever!  My yellow Donald shirt from this years half marathon inspired me to turn my whole run into a color run: I was hunting YELLOW!  The results: 6.5 miles and 21 oh so yellow photos!

Donald was my inspiration!
Check out all of this yellow!

I decided not to put the shirt in the picture after  the first one.

Construction site along my route

I had to pick pump 4! It's a Dopey Challenge thing!

The wheels on the bus...

Car bumper sticker...it was parked!

I took a how am I going to get myself out there running evening and turned it into a color run a la Donald!  It is amazing what you see on your run when you challenge yourself to look around!  Which color will I do next?  I don't know, but my runDisney race shirts are pretty colorful!

Please let me know if you are inspired to do a color run of your own and which color you choose to hunt!

Disney Social Media Mom of the Day and Dopey Challenge

What...a...day!  It started off early with should I or should I not register for the Dopey Challenge and quickly went into I'm the Disney Social Media Mom of the day!  It was crazy fun and I was giddy all the way!  Did I register for the 5k, 10k, half, and full? Why YES I did! That's right folks I wanted more runDisney at WDW Marathon weekend this year and in 2014 I am going to get just what I wanted: MORE runDISNEY!  And you know me...I will be getting my Disney Social Media Mom on the Run on all the way!  Run with me, have fun with me, take pictures with me all over Disney, snack with me (there will be snacking), and lets do this thing right!  We are going to get downright DOPEY!

You all know I am going to the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at WDW in May.  Well leading up to the event Rene Syler of Good Enough Mother is posting a Disney Social Media Mom of the day on her website.  Today was the first day and she decided to kick off the project with me!  I am trilled to finally be able to share all my answers with you.  I loved answering her questions and doing some serious self analysis.  So take a peek and see what you think.  I'd love to know which questions and answers are your favorites!  So please share.

Tea fit for a running Princess at the Grand Floridian

Princesses need a little time out to relax, chat, and be served.  Princess half weekend we took a brake Friday afternoon to have tea at the Grand Floridian Garden View Tea Room.  It was so worth it!  I loved seeing everyone and having time to get to know some of my fellow runners.  They served us three lovely courses along with tea! Among the guests attending was our very special secret prince...Mr. runDisney himself Dennis Marsico!  Our Princesses were Amy Smith, Anna Louise Downing, Bettina Dubois Muscara, Brittany Falkowitz, Deanna Page DonFrancisco, Deborah Duff, Erica Spencer, Erin Williams, Gwendolyn Rucker, Holly Batura, Jamie Duff Plucker, Jen Remetta Lombardi, Jennifer Beckner Golden, Jennifer Holler, Jennifer Pelham, Kim Alberts Requa, Lena MacLennan, Linda Bachand-Doucet, Mandie Moyer Koch, Marcia Barton, Mary Hoyt, Monica Clemence, Nicole Decker, Patty Moyer, Sandy Stahl, Sharri Stewart, Shelly Williams, Stephanie Federer, and Stephanie Nartowt.  If you were at the tea you are in the photo album!  So take a moment and have a look at all the fun that was had on an afternoon in February when we all took a moment to stop and smell the roses...in our tea!

Thank you for attending one and all...especially Prince Dennis!  He came to the Grand Floridian and spent the afternoon with us because he knew we would really appreciate him being there even though the crew was busy elsewhere.  It was definitely one of the highlights of my race weekend.  There is never enough time to talk to everyone, but I really enjoyed getting to know you all a little bit better.  Everyone is so amazing and  we all have so much to offer.  Thank you for sharing your time and your stories with me!
